Image enlargement creates larger versions of your photos using Lanczos3 resampling, a high-quality interpolation algorithm that produces smooth, naturally-sharp results. Unlike simple nearest-neighbour or bilinear scaling that creates blurry or blocky output, Lanczos3 weighs nearby pixels with a sinc-based kernel that preserves edges and reduces aliasing.
Lanczos3 is not a neural-network upscaler. It cannot invent detail that is not present in the source pixels. What it does very well is enlarge images cleanly without the soft, smeary look of bilinear or bicubic resampling. For most photographs, web images, and design assets, Lanczos3 produces output that is visibly sharper than the alternatives at the same dimensions.
