PPTX follows Microsoft's Office Open XML standard for presentations, while ODP (OpenDocument Presentation) follows the ISO 26300 open standard used natively by LibreOffice Impress and Apache OpenOffice Impress. Both are ZIP archives containing XML, but they use different schemas for describing slides, animations, styles, and media.
