Quality 85-90 matches the visual fidelity of JPEG quality 92-95 at significantly smaller file sizes. Lossless WebP preserves exact pixel data like PNG but in a smaller file. For normal maps and data textures where pixel accuracy matters, use lossless WebP. For diffuse and albedo textures destined for web display, lossy WebP at quality 80-85 provides the best size-to-quality ratio.
