OGV (Ogg Video) combines Theora video with Vorbis audio in an OGG container — a fully open-source, royalty-free video format. The OGV container interleaves Theora and Vorbis pages using OGG's page-based streaming architecture with granule-position timestamps.
Theora is less efficient than both DivX (MPEG-4 Part 2) and H.264. To match DivX visual quality at 480p, Theora requires approximately 50% more bitrate. This means OGV files will be larger than the source DivX for equivalent quality. Vorbis audio quality is excellent and typically equal to or better than the DivX MP3 track.
