About RAW to SVG Conversion
RAW to SVG converts camera sensor data into Scalable Vector Graphics format through a vectorization process. This is not a simple format swap — it involves decoding the RAW image, then tracing the pixel data to produce vector paths and shapes that approximate the original photograph. The resulting SVG is resolution-independent, infinitely scalable, and editable in vector graphics tools like Illustrator, Inkscape, and Figma.

How It Works
Sharp decodes the RAW sensor data and produces a full-color bitmap. vtracer then traces the bitmap using color-aware path tracing, producing vector paths with configurable parameters: color precision (how many unique colors to trace), filter speckle size (minimum detail to preserve), curve fitting mode (spline, polygon, or pixel), and corner threshold. The output SVG contains path elements with fill colors approximating the original photograph. Higher color precision produces more faithful results but larger SVG files.
Quality & Performance
SVG is a fundamentally different representation than raster images — it approximates the photograph with vector shapes rather than preserving individual pixels. At high detail settings, the SVG can closely resemble the original photo at typical viewing sizes. At lower settings, the result is a stylized, artistic interpretation. Fine photographic detail (skin texture, fabric patterns) is simplified into regions of color. The artistic quality can be excellent; the photographic fidelity is always an approximation.
