DOCM (Word Macro-Enabled Document) stores VBA macros alongside standard Word content in an Open XML package. PDF (Portable Document Format) is the universal standard for fixed-layout document exchange, preserving exact visual appearance across every device and platform. DOCM files pose the highest security risk of any standard Office format because they contain executable VBA code that runs automatically when the file is opened in Word. The output conforms to the PDF 1.7 specification with optional PDF/A compliance for archival.
PDF output preserves the visual appearance of the DOCM content with high fidelity. Text, tables, images, headers, footers, page layout, and formatting are rendered exactly as they appear in Word. Fonts are embedded for consistent rendering on any system. The only content not represented is the VBA macro code itself — the PDF captures the document's static content as it appears with macros disabled. If macros were responsible for dynamically generating content, the PDF will reflect whatever content was present at the time of conversion.
