About PNG to PDF
PNG to PDF conversion creates professional documents from PNG images while preserving their unique features including transparency, lossless quality, and sharp edges. PNG's strengths in handling graphics, screenshots, and designs translate perfectly to PDF format.
Unlike JPEG conversion which may alter image data, PNG to PDF embedding preserves the exact pixel-perfect quality of your original images. Transparency in PNG files is maintained in the PDF, allowing for sophisticated document layouts with overlapping elements. This makes PNG-to-PDF ideal for design work, technical documents, and presentations.
Designers compile graphic work into presentation portfolios. Technical writers convert diagrams and screenshots into documentation. Software companies create user guides with clear interface captures. Architects compile plans and drawings into comprehensive packages. Marketing teams assemble branded graphics into shareable documents.
Several PNGs can become one document: switch on Combine into one PDF in the settings panel and every image lands on its own page of a single PDF, in the order shown in the file list — drag rows to reorder before converting — and the whole batch counts as one conversion against your quota. By default each page matches its image's exact pixel dimensions; pick A4, A5, Letter, Legal, or A3 instead to scale the image onto a standard page (aspect ratio preserved, centered), with a Landscape toggle and a millimeter margin setting. A Transparent Areas selector decides what happens to alpha regions: keep the transparency in the PDF for digital viewing, or flatten to white (best for printing) or black.
Common Use Cases
- •Create documentation with screenshots
- •Build graphic design portfolios
- •Compile diagrams and technical drawings
- •Create presentations from PNG slides
- •Assemble marketing material collections
How It Works
PNG images are embedded with lossless Flate compression — never re-encoded to JPEG — and alpha channels are written as PDF soft masks (SMask), so transparency renders correctly in standard viewers. There is deliberately no quality slider: the embedding is always exact. Optional placement controls scale the image onto a named page (A4, A5, Letter, Legal, A3) with landscape orientation and millimeter margins; the Transparent Areas option can instead flatten alpha onto a white or black background. With Combine into one PDF enabled, all selected PNGs are assembled into one multi-page document in a single job.
