PPT is Microsoft's proprietary binary presentation format from the 1997-2003 era. ODP (OpenDocument Presentation) is the open ISO standard (ISO 26300) for presentations, used natively by LibreOffice Impress and Apache OpenOffice Impress. Simple animations (appear, fade, fly-in) typically transfer. Complex or custom animation sequences from PPT may simplify. Test in LibreOffice Impress to verify.

Yes. PowerPoint supports ODP import, though some animations and formatting may render slightly differently than in LibreOffice.

Sound effects attached to animations or slides in PPT may not transfer to ODP. Linked or embedded audio files are best verified after conversion.
