The MOBI output uses the Palm Database (PDB) container format with Mobipocket encoding. Text is compressed with PalmDOC LZ77 compression, and images are converted to JPEG or GIF format optimized for e-ink display resolution (typically 300 PPI on modern Kindles). The table of contents is encoded as a MOBI navigation structure that the Kindle renders as its chapter selection interface.

Cover images are extracted from the EPUB metadata and embedded as the MOBI thumbnail that appears in the Kindle library grid. Chapter breaks are preserved as logical page boundaries. Metadata (title, author, publisher, description, language) is mapped to the MOBI header fields.
