How It Works
FFmpeg decodes the MP4 audio and re-encodes using the wmav2 (Windows Media Audio v2) codec. Standard WMA supports bitrates from 32 to 320 kbps at sample rates up to 48 kHz in stereo. The output is containerized in ASF format with .wma extension. WMA v2 is a lossy perceptual codec based on modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT).
