The preset encodes H.264 High Profile Level 4.1 at 1920x1080 (or preserves the original resolution if lower) with a target bitrate of 5-8 Mbps. Audio is transcoded to AAC-LC at 192 kbps stereo. The MP4 container uses the moov atom at the beginning for instant playback. Color space is BT.709 for correct display on the iPad's wide-gamut P3 screen.
At 1080p with 5-8 Mbps H.264, the output looks excellent on the iPad's 10-11 inch Retina display. The preset is intentionally generous with bitrate to avoid visible compression artifacts on the larger screen. Audio at 192 kbps AAC is transparent for all content types.
