At 480x272 on the PSP's 4.3-inch TN LCD, even 512 kbps video looks acceptable. Higher bitrates (768 kbps-2 Mbps) produce noticeably cleaner results for fast-motion content like sports. The small screen size means you cannot see the quality loss that would be obvious at larger display sizes.
