H.264 is dramatically more efficient than MPEG-4 Part 2 (DivX). At CRF 20, the MP4 output will look visually identical to or better than the DivX source while being smaller. DivX's characteristic macroblocking at low bitrates is replaced by H.264's smoother compression artifacts. This is one of the rare conversions where the output genuinely looks better than the source at the same file size.
