Resize PDF — Free Online Tool
Change page size to A4, Letter, A3, or custom dimensions.
About Resize PDF
Page-size standardization is one of those operations that nobody thinks about until they need to print a Letter-size US document on A4 paper in Europe (or vice versa) and discover that the result has odd margins or clipped content. Our resize tool re-flows pages to a target paper size and handles the content scaling for you. Five standard sizes are built in: Letter (8.5 × 11 in), Legal (8.5 × 14 in), A4 (210 × 297 mm), A3 (297 × 420 mm), and A5 (148 × 210 mm). Custom dimensions are also supported for specialized formats like poster prints, business cards, and digital-display PDFs. Three content-scaling modes determine how the original content fits the new size. 'Scale to fit' shrinks or enlarges content proportionally so it fits inside the new page boundary with margins as needed. 'Center without scaling' keeps content at original size and centers it on the new page (good for converting between similar sizes like Letter and A4). 'Fill' stretches content to cover the entire new page (rarely desired but available). The output is a real resized PDF — page dimensions in the /MediaBox are updated, content streams are wrapped in scaling transforms, and the file works correctly in any reader. Vector graphics and embedded fonts scale crisply; raster images scale with bilinear filtering.
How it works
Upload your PDF.
Pick the target page size (Letter, A4, etc.) or enter custom dimensions.
Choose a scaling mode: scale-to-fit, center, or fill.
Click Resize and download. Page boundaries and content scaling adjust together.
Why use our resize pdf

Frequently asked questions
Will resizing affect quality?
Vector content (text, line art) stays crisp at any size — it is just rendered at the new scale. Raster images are scaled with bilinear filtering, which slightly softens them when enlarging by a lot, but is fine for typical Letter ↔ A4 conversions.
What is the difference between scale-to-fit, center, and fill?
Scale-to-fit shrinks/enlarges content proportionally to match the new page (adds margin as needed). Center keeps content at original size and centers it on the new page. Fill stretches content to fully cover the new page (distorts proportions — use sparingly).
Can I apply different sizes to different pages?
Yes. Pick a page range, apply one size, then a different range with a different size. Useful for mixed-orientation documents where some pages should be portrait Letter and others landscape A4.
Will form fields and signatures scale correctly?
Yes. Form field bounding boxes and annotation coordinates are recomputed by the same scaling transform as the content, so positions stay correct.
Can I keep custom dimensions?
Yes. Enter any width × height in mm or inches. Useful for non-standard formats like 4×6 photo prints, A6 postcards, or 24×36 posters.
