Sign PDF — Free Online Tool
Type, draw, or upload your signature onto any PDF.
About Sign PDF
Signing a PDF used to require printing it, signing with a pen, scanning it back in, and emailing the result. That workflow still exists everywhere, and our sign tool kills it. Three signature modes are supported. Type a name in one of seven handwriting-style fonts (Dancing Script, Great Vibes, Pacifico, Allura, and others), and it lands on the page rendered exactly as a handwritten signature would. Draw your signature on a touchscreen or with a mouse, with pressure-sensitive strokes and a smoothing pass that mimics ink flow. Or upload an existing scanned signature as PNG/JPG — the tool keys out the white background automatically so the strokes blend onto the page. Once placed, drag to position, resize from eight handles (corners and edges), and rotate freely. The signature embeds as a vector path where possible (typed and drawn) or as a transparency-keyed image (uploaded), so it stays crisp at any zoom. The output PDF is otherwise byte-identical to the input apart from the added signature annotation. Compared to Adobe Sign or DocuSign, our tool is free for ad-hoc signatures and runs entirely server-side — no DocuSign account, no email round-trip, no chargeable envelope. For legally-binding e-signatures with audit trails you still need a dedicated service; for everyday paperwork, this is faster.

Frequently asked questions
Is a typed signature legally binding?
In most jurisdictions (US ESIGN Act, EU eIDAS basic e-signature, UK Electronic Communications Act) a typed signature with intent counts as legally binding for everyday contracts. For high-value transactions (real estate, mortgages, healthcare directives) check local law or use a service with audit-trail certification.
Can I sign with a touchscreen?
Yes. The draw mode is touch-optimized with stroke smoothing tuned for finger and stylus input. Looks identical to a pen-and-paper signature.
What if my scanned signature has a white background?
We automatically key out the white background so only the ink strokes show through. The result blends onto any underlying page color or texture.
Can I place multiple signatures on one document?
Yes. Add as many signatures as you need, on as many pages as you need. Each gets independent positioning.
How does this compare to DocuSign?
DocuSign provides identity-verified, audit-trailed e-signatures for high-value transactions. Our tool is for everyday signing where you do not need an audit trail. Both are valid e-signatures legally; DocuSign has stronger evidentiary value.
Will the signed PDF print correctly?
Yes. Vector-rendered signatures (typed and drawn) print at the printer's native DPI. Uploaded image signatures print at whatever resolution you uploaded.
